You may be working today (I am), but I wish you a happy May Day all the same!
And now that spring is more or less here — the first ramps, asparagus, and strawberries have made their appearance at New York’s farmers markets, but it was snowing in the Finger Lakes on Friday — here is a selection of recipes for the season:
- Start your meal with these Rabbit, Bacon and Spring Vegetable Bouchées. Rabbits, by the way, are also available at the Union Square Greenmarket right now.
- If you’d prefer eating fish, try the Dill and Sour Cream Marinated Shad.
- And, of course, it’s time to start filling those Mason jars again! Make some Spring Onion and Garlic Jam, Strawberry Preserves, Maraschino Cherries or Drunken Rhubarb.
